Supporters who follow our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram social media channels will have seen regular photographs giving a visual update on the progress of the development, which is progressing rapidly.
The base was completed today, with work continuing on Monday to get the project finished in good time.
Dover Athletic chairman Jim Parmenter has spoken of the innovative building methods that will be used, and speaking previously of the build, said: “We are investing into developing and improving Crabble to meet the updated Football League criteria, and also to provide a better matchday experience for our supporters – including those with disabilities. We hope that supporters enjoy the new facilities at Crabble once completed.”
The modern design will have nearly 500 seats inside once completed, and will provide the club with Football League standard dressing rooms, referee’s changing rooms and our medical room, as well as a control room. There will also be extra toilet facilities, and dedicated viewing areas for disabled supporters.
The new type of construction – Glulam – is made in sections and brought over from Bosnia, before being erected on site. The seating is coming from Scandanavia. The investment is around £1,325,000 with grants covering around £400,000 of this cost, and the rest coming from sponsorship and from chairman Jim Parmenter.
