*BS*CRAIG CLOKE has been told he needs a knee operation or he will never play again.

*BF*A scan this week confirmed the club’s worst fears and the popular defender needs surgery to repair the damage.

The cost is £3,800 – and Whites supporters are being asked to help the club raise the funds.

Chairman Jim Parmenter said: “This is devastating news for Clokey and Dover Athletic. Although Clokey’s wages are covered by insurance, the cost of the operation is not. This is money we don’t have.

“We hope supporters will help us raise the necessary funds to get Clokey back in a Dover shirt.”

There will be a bucket collection at Saturday’s home game with Needham Market.
