Jacob Mensah

Jacob made 34 National League South appearances with The Whites last season and spent the start of this season with Welling. The 24-year old began his career with Ramsgate as a 16-year-old, wracking up over 70 appearances and attracting the attention of Crystal Palace. A move to Selhurst Park in 2019 saw Mensah represent the Eagles’ U23s for 18 months, before he joined Weymouth in the National League in Jan 2021. Spells with Morecambe, Maidstone United and Torquay United followed before he linked up with Dover Athletic last term.

David Smith

Smith, a former Maidstone United Academy member, joined Whites in July 2018 after impressing in pre-season.

The striker scored twice on his first appearance for Whites in the 5-1 win at Deal Town in the opening pre-season game of this season.

In his career to-date, Smith has spent time at the Pro Soccer Academy, scoring an impressive 31 goals in just 11 games.

He also had spells with Leatherhead, Lordswood and Sittingbourne.

Kweku Lucan

Kweku Lucan – After signing for Slough last summer, Kweku has scored five goals in his 23 appearances this season. Kweku’s career began as a youth player with Peterborough United before he moved on to play for several clubs. He joined Northwood in July 2018, where he became a fan favourite and was featured in their ‘Team of the Decade’ for the 2010s. Kweku has also had spells at St Albans City, Biggleswade Town, Wingate & Finchley and Billericay Town.

Joe Bedford

A regular member of the Shrimpers’ under-23 side, Bedford, a central midfielder, had been with Southend since the age of eight and progressed through the Blues Academy to sign a professional deal.

Having joined Dover in December 2018, Bedford signed a two-year deal with Dover ahead of the 2019/20 National League campaign.
