LAST TIME WE MET

Luke Garrard’s side left Crabble with all three points last August after Jake Goodman’s first-half own goal proved to be the only goal of the game.

The visitors took the lead four minutes before the break when Ben Williamson’s pass in midfield was charged down.

Jacob Mendy picked up the loose ball and was able to drive forward and spread to Kane Smith on the right and his low centre was agonisingly turned in at his near post by Goodman.

MATCH PREVIEW – DOVER VS MAIDENHEAD UNITED

Manager Andy Hessenthaler’s squad is back in action at Crabble for a second consecutive weekend when they host Maidenhead United at 3pm on Saturday.

LAST TIME WE MET

Two first-half goals from Sam Barratt and Josh Kelly secured all three points for the hosts at York Road last August.

In what was our first game of the season after Covid in our squad, Kelly headed home Barratt’s cross in the 14th minute before Barratt double the lead four minutes later.

Andy Hessenthaler’s side piled on the pressure but found goalkeeper James Holden unbeatable.

Holden, who was named Man-of-the-Match, produced stunning saves to deny Reda Johnson and Jake Goodman.

LEADING SCORER

Josh Kelly leads the way with 13 goals in the National League this season.

NATIONAL LEAGUE FORM GUIDE

05/04 Wealdstone 0-0 Maidenhead United

03/04 Solihull Moors 3-1 Maidenhead United

Unfortunately, young England under-18 forward Noah Carney has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a broken metatarsal.

MATCH PREVIEW – WREXHAM VS DOVER

Manager Andy Hessenthaler and his squad are back in action on Saturday when they make the long trip to North Wales to play promotion-chasing Wrexham at The Racecourse Ground (3pm).

The hosts are currently fourth on the National League table, one point behind third-placed FC Halifax Town, who they beat 3-1 on Tuesday.

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING ABOUT US?

You can read the hosts preview HERE

LAST TIME WE MET

Manager Andy Hessenthaler’s patched-up side suffered late heartbreak after Jordan Davies’ goal six minutes from time secured all three points for Wrexham after a 1-0 win at Crabble last December.

Hessenthaler was forced to play players out of position with on-loan Crawley Town defender Harry Ransom pulling out on the morning of the match due to illness.

Millwall loanee Junior Tiensia played at right-back rather than left with Danny Collinge suspended, while Seth Nana Twumasi, who only turned up to get treatment for his knee injury, found himself replacing Ransom, and doing it in a pair of borrowed boots too!

Twumasi hasn’t trained for three weeks either, but it didn’t show as he produced an outstanding performance at the back in substitute Noah Carney’s boots.

Despite the changes, Whites made the visitors work hard and it could have been such a different result with Hessentahler’s team seeing a penalty claim waved away after TJ Bramble was bundled over by visiting captain Luke Young four minutes before half-time.

Whites hit the woodwork three times in the second half before Wrexham won it at the death after Davies’ corner eluded everyone.

Attendance:838 (198 away).

LEADING SCORER

Paul Mullin is leading the way with 16 goals in the National League this season.

NATIONAL LEAGUE FORM GUIDE

22/03 Wrexham 3-1 FC Halifax Town

Gillingham loanee, midfielder Henry Woods, is back in the matchday squad after missing Yeovil’s visit to Crabble last Saturday through illness.

Young forward Noah Carney is away on England under-18 duty and not available while his 16-year-old Dover Athletic Academy team-mate Kieron Agbebi, who made his debut against Yeovil, is again included in the squad.

Ryan Hanson, Marshall Wratten (hamstring), TJ Bramble (back), James Caton (hamstring),  Alex Green (ankle), Seth Twumasi (knee), and Travis Gregory (knee) are all still on the sidelines.
