Jim Parmenter praised the 132 travelling fans for their support during Saturday’s victory at Chesterfield and now wants supporters to become the 12th man when Dagenham & Redbridge come to Crabble on Tuesday night.
Dover’s chairman said after Athletic’s 2-1 win. “The away fans were right behind the team when our first goal went in and were really noisy.
“It was great for us to come to one of the favourites for the league and even when a goal down, keep fighting to win the game.
“It proves what good support can do and I look forward to seeing a lot more of that at Crabble against Dagenham. If the crowd can get behind the side like they did on Saturday, it will really help lift the lads and keep them going.”
He concluded, “I’m trying to not get too excited as I’ve been in football a long time, but we have a very special group of players here and I have a feeling in my bones it might be a very good season for us.”
