*BS*Monday morning will see the draw for the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup made, with Whites set to learn of their opponents in the last stage of the competition before League One and League Two sides enter.*BF*
As always, this round is regionalised so a trip to Gateshead or Barrow is out of the question, however the southern section of the draw contains a number of potentially tricky opponents for Chris Kinnear’s men. However, last season’s superb run to the Third Round – where Premier League side Crystal Palace came to Crabble – give the side an extra incentive to emulate last season’s efforts.
In addition to those sides who safely navigated their way through the last round of the qualifying stage on Saturday, all Vanarama National League sides will enter at this stage of the competition.
Here, we take a look at some of the potential opponents from outside of the Vanarama National League that Whites could be drawn to face in the tie, which will be played on Saturday October 24th.
In the 2013/14 season, Dover were drawn against *BS*AFC Rushden & DIamonds*BF* in the Third Qualifying Round of the competition, and Whites ran out comfortable 3-1 winners back then. A rematch could be set up in Monday’s draw, with DIamonds through thanks to an impressive 2-0 victory over Ashton United on Saturday. They are going well in the Southern Football League Division One Central division, sitting in seventh place, four points off the top with three matches in hand.
There is also a chance of a Kent derby – in addition to Bromley and Welling United both being potential opponents, *BS*Maidstone United*BF* and *BS*Margate*BF* are in the draw after their respective victories over Dunstable Town (2-0) and Truro City (4-1).
Both sides now ply their trade in the Vanarama League South, with Maidstone United in 5th and Margate in 19th. It has now been some time since Whites faced either side in a competitive fixture, and a clash against either would be high on the wishlist for many Dover fans – and neutrals in Kent.
A side which Whites frontman Stefan Payne may be hoping for in the next round is his former club *BS*AFC Hornchurch*BF* – scoring over 30 goals for them in a season before moving to Crabble, Payne could hold inside knowledge to help Whites through to the First Round Proper. They beat Worthing 4-1 on Saturday, and are second in the Ryman Division One North.
Former Dover Athletic manager Nicky Forster’s *BS*Staines Town*BF* breezed past East Thurrock United 6-3 at the weekend, and former Whites captain Craig Stone’s *BS*Eastbourne Borough*BF* are also potential opponents, following their 3-2 win against Hartley Wintney.
Another lower league side through to this stage of the competition are *BS*Didcot Town*BF*, who were 4-1 victors over Eastbourne Town.
The Emirates FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round Draw will be broadcast live on TalkSport Radio. The draw will take place on Monday morning at approximately 10.30 a.m.
