KINNEAR IMPRESSED WITH DOVER ATTACK

KINNEAR PRAISES TEAM AFTER BIG WIN

Dover kick started their pre season campaign with a 5-0 thumping of Eastbourne Borough. Ricky Miller led the charge in the first half with a terrific run and thumping finish, whilst Stefan Payne and Sean Raggett both added a brace after the break.

Manager Chris Kinnear refused to get carried away after a solid all round display from his team. ‘It is just the way as we were not too upset about losing on Saturday and there are still four weeks to go’, said Chris. ‘But what we did was go back to the pattern that we normally play and showed we are quite a formidable team.’*Lpic1*

Fans were left impressed by the pace and trickery of the likes of Ricky Miller and Tom Murphy, but Kinnear was also impressed by what he saw all over the pitch. ‘I was really pleased with the centre three and they had a really good understanding. The midfield did well today as well they have played for us before and were able to do the little things that make a massive difference.’

New recruit Jamie Grimes held on to the armband and the boss confirmed the captaincy is his to keep. ‘It is nice to have a Captain that talks’, beamed Kinnear. ‘He is fitting in well and the lads look up to him. I could tell from day one he is a leader even though he is 24. He will be Captain.’

In spite of some new triallists for management and supporters to run the rule over, Chris confirmed there are no new signings to add to that of Duane Ofori-Acheampong, though he did stress he was ‘still talking to a number of players’.

Dover travel to Wealdstone this Saturday in the next match of their pre season schedule and a familiar face in Tom Wynter is expected to feature after holiday.*Lpic2*
