JEFFREY SIGNS UP

We are pleased to announce Anthony Jeffrey has joined the club.

The pacey wideman, who featured 21 times for Athletic during a loan spell last season, has signed a one-year-deal with Whites.

The 23 year-old Jeffrey, who also counts Boreham Wood, Forest Green and Wycombe Wanderers among his former clubs, found the net once when playing for Dover last season.

PREVIEW: FOLKESTONE V WHITES

Athletic continue their pre-season schedule when they visit the Fullicks Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Chris Kinnear’s men have started this year’s friendly campaign strongly, with victories registered at both Deal Town and Hythe Town so far.

And Dover’s gaffer will be aiming for a similiar performance to the last time they visited the Bostik Premier side.

Whites were 5-1 winners at their neighbours Folkestone last July, with both Mitch Brundle and Tobi Sho-Silva on the scoresheet.

For opponents Invicta , this weekend’s match also represents their third friendly so far.

Saturday’s hosts drew 1-1 with League Two Gillingham last Saturday and lost 5-0 to National League team Maidstone United two days later.

The game kicks-off at 3pm at admission is as follows:

Adults:  £10

Juniors (5-18):  £3

BONJOUR MOUSSA!

Moussa Diarra has joined fellow Frenchman and former Barrow AFC team-mate Bedsente Gomis in signing for Dover.

The imposing (6ft 5ins) 28-year-old central defender and former Paris Saint-Germain junior spent two years with the Bluebirds after signing from National League South side Hampton & Richmond Borough.

In his time in Cumbria, Diarra made 88 appearances in the National League and FA Cup, scoring eight goals, including one against Whites in the final game of the 2016/17 season at Holker Street.

The Parisian becomes manager Chris Kinnear’s fourth new summer signing following the arrival of midfielder Gomis, defender Kevin Lokko and striker Inih Effiong.

Diarra arrived in the UK in 2011 and played for St Albans City before moving to Hemel Hempstead and then winning promotion from the Ryman League with Hampton & Richmond Borough.

PREVIEW: HYTHE TOWN V WHITES

Dover make the short trip to Reachfields on Monday as they continue their preparations ahead of the 2018/19 National League season.

Chris Kinnear’s men started their pre-season campaign with a 5-1 win at Deal Town last Monday with Jamie Allen, Mitch Brundle and Inih Effiong all on the scoresheet.

And for Bostik South East side Hythe, the match represents their first opening friendly fixture.

Tonight’s game kicks-off at 7.45pm at admission is as follows:

OKOSIEME AGREES NEW DEAL

Defender Ejiro Okosieme has a signed a new deal to remain at Crabble.

The 23-year-old, who signed for Dover last October, made nine appearances in the National League last season after making his debut in the 2-2 draw at Bromley last December.

Ejiro started his career playing for Colchester United’s academy before joining Middlesbrough where he played for their under-18 and under-21 teams.

He also had a spell with Ryman League Chatham Town before joining Macclesfield Town in February 2017.

Ironically, Ejiro made his one and only appearance for The Silkmen as a substitute in the 2-2 against Dover at Crabble in April 2017.

LEAGUE FIXTURES RELEASED


Dover Athletic will host Wrexham when they start their 2018/19 National League campaign on Saturday, August 4th at 3pm.

Boss Chris Kinnear’s men are unbeaten in eight matches against the North Wales side, whose squad includes former Dover midfielder Nicky Deverdics.

Whites will then face back-to-back away trips to Bromley (August 7, 7:45pm) and Gateshead (August 11, 3pm) before ending the first week of National League competition with a home game against newly promoted Havant & Waterlooville.  (August 14th, 7:45pm)

The first Bank Holiday clash of the campaign sees Athletic travel to Leyton Orient on Monday 27th August (Kick off 3pm) and this year’s

Festive fixtures see Whites host Maidstone United on Boxing Day before Leyton Orient travel down to Kent on Saturday 29th December.

Dover travel to the Gallagher Stadium to play Maidstone on New Year’s Day.

The final game of the regular season will be at home to Sutton United on Saturday, April 27.
