NEW MATCHDAY MAGAZINE

NEW MATCHDAY MAGAZINE

*BS*The club’s revamped matchday magazine, COYW, will be unveiled ahead of tomorrow night’s Vanarama National League match against Boreham Wood – pick up your copy and enjoy the engaging content!*BF*

We’ve been busy with our matchday magazine designers over the summer, revamping and redesigning our offering ready for the 2016/17 season.

We’re delighted with the finished article and are happy to confirm that the first issue will be on sale at Crabble ahead of tomorrow night’s match against Boreham Wood.

Within this first issue, you’ll find interviews with members of the playing squad – Sam Magri, Steve Arnold, Jim Stevenson and Ira Jackson Jr – plus you can hear the thoughts from the backroom staff, including manager Chris Kinnear and Loui Fazakerley!

Also inside is a feature with groundsman Sid Fletcher on the work undertaken on the Crabble surface over the summer.

With much more inside, the revamped COYW really is the perfect accompaniment to your Crabble matchday experience – and it’s still priced at just £2.50!

SKIPPER PLEASED WITH POINT

SKIPPER PLEASED WITH POINT

Whites were held to a goalless draw by Welsh counterparts Wrexham and Captain Jamie Grimes declared himself pleased with a point. ‘It was a typical opening day slog and we are happy to take the draw’, the skipper explained adding ‘Steve Arnold did not have a save to make. We had good opportunities and penalty shouts, whereas Wrexham only had some half chances right at the end.’*Q1*

Jamie himself was back in the starting eleven and in a slightly different role. ‘I was at centre half yesterday rather than sweeper and it allowed me to get right into the heat of the battle to affect the game more. I want to show the Dover fans what I can do.’

Fans were treated to a flurry of transfer activity on Friday with four new signings, including Moses Emmanuel who made his second debut in a Whites shirt since leaving two seasons ago. Grimes admitted he was glad to see a few new faces. ‘They will all be good additions and Moses looked really sharp even though he has only had one training session with us.’

Dover face a Boreham Wood side no doubt buoyant from beating much fancied Forest Green and White’s Captain is expecting a tough test. ‘It’s a great result for them and they will be a different challenge to Wrexham’ said Jamie. ‘We owe them one from last season and we will have to be at our best.’

Jamie himself was forced off late on but allayed any fears ahead of Tuesday’s home game. ‘I was suffering with cramp because of a dead leg I suffered at Chelmsford last week, but I will be ok to play Boreham Wood.’*Lpic1*

FAZ THE FOURTH

FAZ THE FOURTH

*BS*LOUI Fazakerley is poised to play more than a backroom staff role for Dover this season.*BF*

Fazakerley, who joined boss Chris Kinnear’s staff as a fitness coach last season, has been registered as a player for this campaign.

The 32-year-old former Welling defender made 219 appearances for the Wings before injuring his achilles in the 1-0 win over Guiseley on the opening day of last season at Park View Road.

That injury caused him to miss the rest of the season – but know the former Eastbourne Borough player is back in business.

His wealth of playing experience will strengthen Kinnear’s defensive options.

Fazakerley’s deal continued a busy day of business at Crabble with Ira Jackson Jr, Moses Emmanuel and Jahmal Howlett-Mundle all joining Whites ahead of Saturday’s season-opener at Wrexham.

BT SPORT TO RETURN!

*BS*The BT Sport cameras will be returning to Crabble in September, with Whites’ home match against Forest Green Rovers selected for live coverage.*BF*

The two sides have become well-accustomed to each other over the past few months, with Whites’ final three games of the 2015/16 season being against the Gloucestershire side.

That season ended in heartbreak for Whites, narrowly losing 2-1 on aggregate in the playoff semi-finals. Rovers lost out to Grimsby Town in the Promotion Final at Wembley in May, and now both sides are keen to go one step better in the 2016/17 season – and we’re delighted to be welcoming BT Sport back to Crabble to cover the fixture once again.

The match will now be played at the earlier time of 12.15pm on Saturday 10th September.
