Now the striker will be aiming to find the back of the net for Whites against the Spitfires when the two sides clash in the fourth games of their Vanarama National League campaigns.

Boss Chris Kinnear’s side won 5-2 at the venue last time out with doubles from Ricky Miller and Nicky Deverdics while Tom Murphy scored the other in the rout.

Deverdics (Hartlepool) and Murphy (Maidstone) have since departed while Miller should come back into the squad after missing Saturday’s 2-0 win against North Ferriby United through suspension.

Lafayette replaced Miller against the newcomers and made an immediate impression on his first start for the side following his appearance as a second half substitute against Boreham Wood in midweek.

The 30-year-old set up Moses Emmanuel to score the opener before securing the win with a spectacular curling effort.

Lafayette scored eight goals in 38 appearances for Eastleigh after joining from Luton Town in the summer of 2015.

While Whites claimed the three points in Hampshire last season, Eastleigh won the return contest 2-1 at Crabble thanks to James Constable’s double while Ricky Modeste was on target for Dover.

Dover won for the first time this season after beating North Ferriby on Saturday while Eastleigh suffered their first defeat of the season at Tranmere Rovers.

Top-of-the-table Tranmere won 2-1 after James Norwood scored the winner in the final seconds of stoppage time at Prenton Park.

SAMMY MOORE says he has “unfinished business” at Dover Athletic – and that is why he has returned to the club on-loan from Leyton Orient.

Box-to-box midfielder “Mooro”, 28, is back at Crabble until at least January with the hope that the move could become permanent if all parties are happy.

The former Dover College student – who now lives in Hythe with his partner Naomi and their nine-month-old daughter Betsy – will be available for selection this Saturday as the Whites entertain Barrow.

Speaking in an interview with Dover fan and The Sun football journalist Justin Allen, he said: “I’m delighted to be back at Dover. I had some good times here from 2008 to 2010 where we won promotion from the Ryman Premier into the Conference South and lost in the play-offs for the Conference National a year later.

“It’s a club close to my heart. I live down the road so have always followed Dover – since leaving and before because my brother, Jason, used to play here.

“There are still some familar faces around the club. Robin Hastie – the kitman; Frank Clarke – the secretary; and obviously the chairman Jim Parmenter as well. I know how the club works and hoping we can get the club into the Football League.”

He added: “I do feel I have unfinished business at the club. We had just missed out on getting to the Conference National when I was here last time – but now we have a chance to take this club into the Football League – and if I was able to be part of that, well, it would be the highlight of my career because Dover Athletic is special to me.”

Moore – who was poached by Chelsea as a 14-year-old from Charlton for £32,000 – has gone on to play more than 200 games in the Football League for Ipswich, Brentford, AFC Wimbledon and Orient.

And Dover beat the competition of several other clubs in the Football League for his signature.

The midfielder hopes the fans turn up in droves on Saturday to be the team’s “12th man” – and he urged: “Please come along and bring a friend too. This club is ambitious, a new stand is going up and there are good things happening.

“I’ve not come here to be mid-table, I’m thinking only of promotion.”

DOVER and North Ferriby United will both be hurting when they take the field for the National League clash at Crabble on Saturday.

Both clubs will be looking to bounce back following heavy defeats in their second league games of the season on Tuesday night.

Boss Chris Kinnear’s Dover were humbled 4-1 by visiting Boreham Wood, while North Ferriby United, known as the Villagers, crashed to a 6-1 defeat at Lincoln.

Both Whites and the Yorkshire side finished their respective games with 10 players after each had a man sent off.

But that’s not the only similarities between the sides so far this season, with both drawing their season openers 0-0.

Whites drew a blank at Wrexham while North Ferriby United earned at point at home against Braintree.

This is North Ferriby United’s first season in the non-league top-flight after they won promotion after winning the National League North play-off final.

And the trip to Dover will continue to add to the history books of the Villagers as assistant boss Darryn Stamp explained to the Hull Daily Mail.

Stamp said: “ We got our first point and first clean sheet at this level last Saturday.

“Although it was a disappointing night at Lincoln, we got our first goal through Curtis Bateson.

“This (the trip to Dover) is the first time the club will have an overnight stay for a league fixture. It’s something we’re going to have to get used to.”

And Stamp is determined to make the most of the long trip south on Friday.

He said: “It’s good the games are coming thick and fast.

“It means we don’t have time to dwell too much on the Lincoln defeat, but when we stop on the way down to Dover, we’ll have a chat about what went wrong that night and how we can fix it.”

THE club are pleased to announce that our Emirates FA Cup first round replay against Cambridge United at Crabble will be televised live.

The tie against the League Two side, which ended 1-1 last Saturday, will be played on Thursday 17th November at 7.45pm and will be shown live on BT Sport.

The FA live broadcast fee is ¶œ33,750 per club.

Prize fund payment for the winner is ¶œ18,000.

Whites were drawn at home to either League One Coventry City or League Two Morecambe in the second round, should they overcome Cambridge.
