TONY LOOKS AHEAD

TONY LOOKS AHEAD

*BS*TONY BROWNE wants to stay at Crabble next season – despite speculation linking him to a move elsewhere.

*BF*The popular defender will have his testimonial match a week on Saturday at Crabble – and after that will talk to club officials about next season.

He said: “I’ve not looked ahead yet but, of course, I want to be a Dover player next season.

“This is a great club and is the most professionally run side at this level – and is even better run than some Third Division clubs I know.

“We’re all still hurting after losing the play-off semi-final to Hastings. Everyone at the club is gutted about the result and having to contemplate another season in Ryman One.

“However, I am sure once the dust has settled and the management have made their decisions we’ll all know where we stand very soon. I am certainly hopeful of staying at the club.”

He added: “I feel we let down the fans big-time on Tuesday. We wanted to win them promotion – and it’s hard to take at the moment.”

Tony Browne talks to me in a special 17-minute interview, looking back at his time at the club and talks about his testimonial game. The interview will be availabe either later tonight or tomorrow morning (Friday) on DAFCradio.

KEISTER LOSES CARD APPEAL

KEISTER LOSES CARD APPEAL

*BS*JOHN KEISTER has failed to have his red-card during the 5-0 win against Chatham overturned.

*BF*The FA viewed video footage of the incident and have judged that the referee was correct to dismiss the Whites midfielder.

Keister has been given an extra match ban for losing his appeal, which means he now misses SIX games, ruling him out of a play-off final should we get there.

The club have successfully appealed two red cards this season – but unfortunately, in this case, the FA did not find in our favour.
