Andy Hessenthaler will be aiming to extend his unbeaten run to three matches since returning as manager when his Whites side travel to Essex on Saturday.
Athletic followed up their 2-2 draw at Harrogate in the National League with a narrow win at Concord in the FA Cup last weekend and face a Braintree side who also have made a change at the top.
Hakan Hayrettin has stepped in to take charge of the team for a second spell, this time on a caretaker basis, after Bradley Quinton left earlier this month by mutual consent.
Braintree, promoted via the National South play-offs last season, are currently bottom of the league table, one point and one place below Dover.
BRAINTREE’S KEY MAN
Mohamed Bettamer has been hitting the goals of late. The striker has scored three goals in his last two league games, including a double at top-of-the-table Salford a fortnight ago.
