*BS*Whites’ young right back Chris Sessegnon has signed an extended contract with Dover Athletic, keeping him at Crabble until the end of the 2013/14 season.*BF*
Having joined from Sutton United in the summer, Chris showed promise as a winger in the opening weeks of the season.
However, it is at right back that he has shone in recent weeks, making the position his own.
The 19 year-old said: “I’m really happy to have been rewarded for what I’ve done so far this season.
“The manager has shown faith in me and now I’m here until the end of next season which is nice.”
Boss Nicky Forster spoke highly of his young players: “#Sess has done incredibly well since he joined us in the summer and has now made the right back slot his own with some terrific performances.
“He has a desire to keep improving and push on to the next level with Dover Athletic and we are delighted to secure his services for another 18 months.
“If you look at our side there are a lot of young lads in it. Lloyd Harrington has started the last two games and Chris Sessegnon is playing on the other side of the back four.
“They are two young boys who have got to be the youngest full-back pairing in the league – but they’ve been magnificent.”
On the teams current form, Sessegnon says the players are confident but not getting carried away.
Chris said: “I always felt we needed time to gel as a side and now we are on a good run. We clicked against Billericay at home and that gave us a lot of momentum.
“It’s a good place to be at the minute but we can’t take our eye off the ball. We’re third place with a few people to catch but there are teams trying to catch us too.”
Nicky Forster also paid tribute to the dozen supporters who made the long journey to Truro and back: “What an effort they’ve made – they travelled the miles to turn out for us and we’ve tried to make every effort to thank them after the final whistle. They deserve it.
“They didn’t stop singing throughout the game and you can’t ask for more than that.”
