SUPPORTERS TRUST UPDATE

We may all be disappointed that we didn’t reach our goal of promotion this season but we cannot let that detract from the hard work and progress that has been made off the pitch.

It’s still only about 17 months since the new Board came in and in that time something like £400,000 of debt has been cleared and negotiations are now taking place to see the CVA cleared early, but that will depend on the goodwill of the creditors.

I would like to mention at this point my thanks to Jim Gleeson, who has written off a very substantial sum that would have meant further payments on the CVA.

It’s vital that the Supporters Trust continues the work it has been doing in financially assisting the club. Over the last season we have again contributed over £15,000. We must not sit back and become complacent because of the work that has been done by the Club Board. DAFC is now on a firm financial standing so we need to continue the momentum and progress.

The Supporters Trust AGM will be held in the Centre Spot on Saturday 20th May at 3:00pm and it would be nice to see as many members there as possible.

There will be no voting slips sent out for the Trust Board this year as there was only 3 nominations for the 3 places that were available, so Ritchie Hulks, Ashley Forecast and Simon Harris will be confirmed at he AGM as being successful.

We are often wrongly accused of arrogance, but what we are is ambitious and there is nothing wrong with that.
The support in our push at the end of the season was fantastic and proves how much DAFC means to us the supporters.

I would ask that those of you who are not already members of the Supporters Trust consider joining us and anybody whose membership has lapsed rejoins. Membership is just £8 a year for adults and £4 for OAP’s and children or you can have a 10 year membership for £60 and £30 respectively.
You can email me at [email protected] and membership forms will be sent to you.

Finally, we will be having two weekends (8th/9th and 15th/16th of July) where we will be asking supporters to join us at Crabble to help get the ground ready for the new season. We will be doing some painting and tidying up, so nothing to strenuous (!), but it would be nice to see a few there to help us prepare. More details will follow shortly.

So thank you for your support and lets keep working together for DAFC.
