*BS*Substitute Jake Reid headed in a dramatic injury time equaliser against Vanarama Conference South side Bath City as they secured an FA Trophy Fourth Round Replay at Twerton Park on Tuesday evening.*BF*

10-man Whites remain in the competition by the skin of their teethes after recovering from being 3-1 down at Crabble on 86 minutes to score twice and keep their Wembley dreams alive.

Stefan Payne opened the scoring early on but was then dismissed for retaliation following an incident with visiting keeper Jason Mellor inside Bath’s area on the stroke of half time.

The visitors capitalised on the extra man-advantage as they scored three second half goals through Andy Gallinagh and a Ross Stearn brace – including a majestic lob to put his side 3-1 side.

But Dover showed tremendous character to rescue a draw as Richard Orlu emphatically headed home before Mellor could not prevent Reid’s header going over the line.

Both sides will battle each other for a semi-final spot again on Tuesday evening at Twerton Park, with the draw taking place on Monday lunchtime.

REACTION: WHITES COMEBACK TO STAY IN HAT

REACTION: WHITES COMEBACK TO STAY IN HAT

Two goals in the last five minutes helped ten man Whites stage a dramatic comeback to draw 3-3 with Bath. Stefan Payne had given Dover an early lead, but then saw red just before half time for raising his hands to Bath goalkeeper Jason Mellor. The away side turned the game on it’s head and raced into a 3-1 lead, but Richard Orlu’s strike three minutes from time and Jake Reid’s header at the death kept Whites in the hat for Monday’s draw as they face a replay on Tuesday night.

Chris Kinnear was delighted with the comeback. ‘They came here to shake us up and I knew at 3-1 down it was not going to be easy, but the character of the team is magnificent and they never know when they are beaten.’ He added, ‘we hit the bar and the post and should have won the game – but I am really proud of the players and their fitness levels are that of a full time team.’*Lpic1*

Stefan Payne will now serve a three match ban effective immediately after appearing to raise his hands to Jason Mellor after an altercation the box. Chris was clearly disappointed with his actions, but also pointed out some other factors in the game that went against his team. ‘Stefan has to learn that he cannot do things like that. To be fair he says that the goalie had him by the throat and he was trying to push him off – so their player should have gone as well. I am disappointed with how their bench acted as the four of them were at the ref all game, but the fourth official could not do anything about it. Though I do believe he is going to report them.’

Jake Reid has had his critics this season, but stepped off the bench late on to head home the equaliser. A move that Kinnear credits to his assistant. ‘Jake was on at me to get him on’ said Chris. ‘Reid had done brilliant in the last round against Havant and he told me he would score, so credit to Leberl for that one!’

The draw for the semi final takes place Monday and fans are dreaming of Wembley more than ever before, but Chris is staying on the cautious side. ‘I am sure they will be fancying themselves at their place and we are by no means in the semi finals. We fancy ourselves though away from home though.’*Q2*

He added ‘Maybe it is fate that we win the Trophy and we played with ten men against Lowestoft. But you cannot rely on fate, you really have to rely on hard work and that is was the lads will be prepared for on Tuesday!’

Soloman Taiwo should be fit to return after pulling out of the warm up ahead of today’s game, but Whites will be without Liam Bellamy, Sean Francis, Stefan Payne, Adam Mekki and Dan Holman on Tuesday night as the squad continues to be stretched. ‘I may have to look into whether I can get anyone back from loan, but that is something I will think about tomorrow.’*Lpic2*

*BS*Dover Athletic look to progress in the FA Trophy as they host Vanarama Conference South side Bath City in the quarter-final stage.*BF*

Whites overcame a stubborn Woking side 1-0 in a Third Round replay thanks to Nicky Deverdics’ superb free kick. The side defeated Bath City 1-0 in the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy last season, as well as doing the double over them in the league.

*BS*DAFC TEAM NEWS*BF*
New signing Dan Holman is ineligible for Saturday’s game, having already played in the competition whilst on loan at Aldershot Town earlier on in the season. The striker has joined on loan from League one Colchester United until the end of the season, but will have to wait another week to make his first team debut.

Recent recruit James Poole was a late substitute against Lincoln last Saturday and is expected to be on the bench again. Poole scored two goals in six appearances during his loan spell earlier in the season, including a goal in the first round against Lowestoft.

Defender Sean Francis picked up a hamstring injury against Woking in the last round and is a doubt for Saturday’s game which means Tom Wynter could replace him. Midfielder Liam Bellamy remains on the side lines while he recovers from a fractured hand, therefore Solomon Taiwo is likely to keep his place in the centre of midfield.

Defenders Tyrone Sterling and Richard Orlu are expected to keep their places in the team, after the club recently announced they signed contract extensions keeping them at Crabble until the end of the 2015/2016 season.

New signing Adam Mekki is unavailable because he is cup tied having featured for Barnet earlier in the competition.

*BS*OPPOSITION FORM*BF*
Adie Britton’s Bath City side currently sit 10th in the Vanarama Conference South, and are just six points adrift of the play-offs.

Bath, also known as the Romans, have been in decent form ahead of the game against Dover, having lost just once in their last six games. In that run, Bath defeated table toppers Boreham Wood, however lost to 2-1 Whitehawk last Tuesday.

Away from home, the Romans have struggled to find the net scoring a just 12 goals on their travels which is the worst record in the Vanarama Conference South.

*BS*BATH CITY’S ROUTE TO THIS ROUND*BF*
Bath needed extra time and a replay to see off Vanarama Conference North strugglers Gloucester City in the third qualifying round, eventually defeating them 3-1 thanks to two extra time goals.

Britton’s side then took on fellow Vanarama Conference South side Wealdstone and came away with a comfortable 1-3 victory. The Romans were then rewarded with a home tie as they took on Altrincham. A Phil Walsh goal 12 minutes from time was enough to give them the win as they claimed their second conference scalp in the competition.

This is just the second time in Bath’s history that they have reached the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy.

Chris Kinnear’s side will be favourites to make the semi-finals, however the Romans are not to be taken lightly having beaten two Vanarama Conference teams already in the competition.
