NEW STRIKER FOR HESS

Dover Athletic are delighted to reveal our second signing of the day, striker Reece Grant, subject to FA approval.

The 27year-old arrives at Crabble after spending last season with National League South champions Maidstone United.

He becomes our ninth summer signing following the arrival of Jake Goodman, Jordan Higgs, Alfie Paxman, Alfie Pavey, Stuart Nelson, Tyrone Sterling, Luke Wanadio, and  Arjanit Krasniqi.

The Greenwich-born Grant joined Maidstone last season from Ebbsfleet United.

He previously played Dagenham & Redbridge after signing from Aldershot Town for an undisclosed fee.

Grant joined the Shots from Braintree Town in November 2018 after winning promotion to the National League in 2017/18 with The Iron.

Welcome to the club, Reece !!

KRASNIQI RETURNS

Dover Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Arjanit Krasniqi, subject to FA approval.

The 22-year-old former Kosovo under-21 captain returns to Crabble after making 18 National League appearances for us last season after arriving on a non-contract basis from National League South side Braintree Town in late January.

He is manager Andy Hessenthaler’s eighth summer signing following the arrival of Jake Goodman, Jordan Higgs, Alfie Paxman, Alfie Pavey, Stuart Nelson, Tyrone Sterling, and Luke Wanadio.

Krasniqi was born and raised in London and represented his father’s native Kosovo at under-19 and 21 levels.

He spent 18 months with Colchester United before being released at the same time as former Dover Athletic defender Paul Rooney.

After his release, Krasniqi made seven appearances for Billericay Town before joining the Finnish side, SJK, in February 2020.

His contract was cancelled by mutual consent in September 2020 and he returned home and joined Braintree in October where he scored two goals in 12 appearances last season.

Welcome back to Crabble, Arjanit !!

WINGER ARRIVES AT CRABBLE

Dover Athletic Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of winger Luke Wanadio.

The 29-year-old is manager Andy Hessenthaler’s seventh summer signing following the arrival of Jake Goodman, Jordan Higgs, Alfie Paxman, Alfie Pavey, Stuart Nelson, and Tyrone Sterling.

Luke finished last season with a short stint at Folkestone Invicta, scoring five goals in 15 appearances, including a hat-trick against Potters Bar.

The former Bromley, Aldershot, Welling, and Dartford wideman initially joined Invicta on loan in January after making six starts and six substitute appearances for Dartford, a team he had three spells with, before making the move a permanent one.

Welcome to Crabble, Luke!

If you would like to sponsor Luke’s home or away playing shirts for the 2022/23 season then please email enquiries@doverathletic.com for details.

SOUTHALL LEAVES CRABBLE

Dover Athletic Football Club can confirm that coach Nicky Southall has left the club.

Nicky, who arrived at Crabble in October 2018 as part of manager Andy Hessenthaler’s staff following Chris Kinnear’s departure, was unable to commit to the training schedule this season.

The club would like to place on record its thanks to Nicky, and we all wish him all the best in whatever he decides to do in the future.

TYRONE IS BACK !!

Dover Athletic Football Club are delighted to reveal versatile defender Tyrone Sterling has returned to Crabble as manager Andy Hessenthaler’s sixth summer signing.

The Grenada international, 34, made 114 appearances in all competitions for us before leaving for Bromley in May 2017 and joins Jake Goodman, Jordan Higgs, Alfie Paxman, Alfie Pavey, and Stuart Nelson in putting pen-to-paper.

Sterling initially joined Whites from Dartford in the summer of 2014 and won both the Players’ Player and Supporters’ Player-of-the-Year awards in his first season.

Sterling has 16 international caps to his name, including two as captain, and played against the USA and El Salvador in the CONCACAF Nations League A earlier this month.

He joins us after making 31 appearances for National League South side Dulwich Hamlet last season, scoring twice.

Welcome back to Crabble, Tyrone !!

HESS GETS HIS NUMBER ONE

Dover Athletic Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Stuart Nelson.

Our new number one most recently played for League 2 Sutton United after a short spell with National League South side Dorking Wanderers.

‘Nels’ as he likes to be called, has made well over 500 appearances in his career including 223 for Gillingham during a five and half-year stay at Priestfield.

He joined the Gills from Notts County in 2012 and was a key man for Martin Allen’s League 2 title-winning side, playing every game.

In Nelson’s second season with Gillingham, he won the Player of the Season award.

After leaving Gills, Nelson signed for then League 2 Yeovil Town in 2018 and made 43 appearances for the Glovers during a two-year spell.

After starting his career with Cirencester Town, Nels joined Millwall in 2000 and had spells with Doncaster Rovers and Hucknall Town before joining Brentford in 2004, where he made 133 appearances for the Bees.

In 2007, he joined Leyton Orient for a year before leaving for Norwich City. One year in Norfolk was followed by a year with Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen.

Nels then joined League 1 side Notts County, where he established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper, making 90 appearances before he joined Gillingham.

He also made three appearances for Crawley Town in the 20/21 season after leaving Yeovil.

Welcome to Crabble, Nels!
