TICKET PRICES FROZEN

Dover Athletic are delighted to announce that ALL entry and season ticket prices will be frozen for the 2020-2021 season.

Chairman Jim Parmenter said the decision was made, despite the club facing a very uncertain financial future as regards to what football will look like going forwards.

He said: ”Everyone is doing it tough in these unprecedented times and we recognise that many of our supporters and their families are struggling financially during the pandemic and we as a club are no different.

“We have had no income since March, but bills still need to be paid – it’s tough for clubs to survive.

“That said, we decided to maintain the current price structure rather than increase it, but we need the support of our fans and the wider community more than ever before to make it work.

“I would hope therefore, that our supporters are happy with this decision.”

Season tickets will go on sale next week and all the information about how to get yours will be released on this website in the near future.

In other news, the Chairman revealed one of the cost-cutting measures the club had taken will see the team training three mornings a week in the future.

He said: ”It’s simply not financially viable to train like we did last season, so you have make changes and we have.

”As for when I think the season will start, well, I cannot see it happening at our level until fans are allowed back into grounds.

“We just cannot afford to play behind closed doors.”

BOARD SET TO MEET

We find ourselves in an unprecedented situation where a global pandemic is affecting everyone’s lives.

This is no normal year. Not for football, not for the world as a whole – there is plenty of speculation and uncertainty.

That said, Dover Athletic Chairman Jim Parmenter and his board will meet on Saturday to discuss a range of big issues facing the club.

The meeting will be one of the first steps on the road to planning on how the club approaches and deals with life in our ‘new normal’ given these challenging times.

Normally, it is around this time of year when fans can expect the club to launch its latest season ticket campaign, and we should have an indication of those details, along with sponsorship prices, soon.

We are looking to provide a steady stream of information to fans in the next couple of weeks, so please bear with us.

In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy everyone.

WE APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT

A huge thank you to all those supporters who have donated money to the GoFundMe page that was set-up to help support the club during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Organiser Jamie Parsons transferred an impressive £5078.28 to the club account last Friday and he’s hoping to add at least another £2000 to that figure in the future.

The page is still open to make a donation and you can find it here

The gesture is greatly appreciated by all of us at the club.

Jamie, who follows the club both home and away, said he was impressed with how his fellow fans got behind the idea to raise money for the club.

He said: “To be honest, I think it’s an amazing effort by each and everyone who has donated so far.

“These are difficult times for everyone and many people have their own concerns about finances, but they have still donated whatever then can – I think that shows just how much the club means to us all.

“Every little bit counts no matter how much you donate – keep it coming in and lets get through this together.

“COYW!!.”
