*BS*NICKY SOUTHALL has today joined Dover Athletic following his release from Gillingham.

*BF*The former Nottingham Forest and Bolton midfielder adds invaluable experience to Andy Hessenthaler’s squad for their first season in Blue Square South.

Southall, 37, said: “I am delighted to be joining. This is a good squad of players and we can go into the season in confident mood of doing well.”

Hess said: “This is a massive signing for this football club.

“Nicky is not just a good, versatile player. He is also a leader on and off the field. His knowledge of the game and experience is going to be huge for us this season.”
