PREVIEW: EASTLEIGH V WHITES

Dover will be aiming to put last weekend’s miserable trip to Fylde behind them when they host the Spitfires on Saturday afternoon.

A Danny Rowe double set the Coasters on their way to a 4-0 win and condemn Chris Kinnear’s men to their heaviest defeat since a 5-0 loss at Boreham Wood in March last year.

And Eastleigh will also be wanting to bounce back following disappointment last week.

The Hampshire side lost 3-1 at home to Wrexham in their last match and sit two points and four points above Athletic in 15th spot on the ladder.

Home fans might also recognise a couple of familiar face in the Eastleigh squad.

Goalkeeper Ross Flitney played 55 times for Dover over a two year period, while Blues boss Andy Hessenthaler managed Whites over three season, taking them from the Ryan South up to the National South.

WHAT THE GAFFERS SAY

DOVER BOSS CHRIS KINNEAR

’Nobody is panicking yet and Fylde was always going to be a tough game.  Eastleigh will also be a difficult test as they have a lot of players with league experience, so it’s down to our lads to show people how good they can be.’

EASTLEIGH BOSS ANDY HESSENTHALER

‘It was our poor defending that cost us on Saturday and we made it easy for Wrexham.  We’ve had a free week to make sure we get it right against Dover on Saturday.’

EASTLEIGH PLAYER TO WATCH

Mark Yeates is often at the heart of Eastleigh’s attacking play.  The 31 year-old Irishman has played over 450 football league games, featuring for the likes of Colchester, Sheffield United and Watford.

TOP SCORERS

Both Jamie Allen and Paul McCallum lead the way for their respective sides with three goals each this campaign.
