Up Next: Dover Athletic vs Dorking Wanderers

Dover Athletic return to National League South action at the Megger Community Stadium this Saturday as Dorking Wanderers make the trip to Crabble.

The Whites head into the fixture looking to build on a strong recent run, while Dorking arrive in Kent having also progressed in the Emirates FA Cup last weekend.

With both sides aiming to carry momentum back into league action, another competitive afternoon awaits at Crabble.

Dover Athletic

Dover Athletic booked their place in the next round of the Emirates FA Cup with a 2-1 victory over Hanwell Town at the Oliver Connell & Son Community Stadium. The Whites took the lead after six minutes when Euan Williams lifted a ball over the defence for Ruben Soares-Junior. His delivery was spilled by Sam Beasant and Luke Baptiste reacted quickest to sweep home. Hanwell threatened from set-pieces and long throws, but Mitch Walker was equal to their best first-half chances, including a save from Henry Snee shortly before the break. The hosts increased the pressure after half-time and levelled in the 56th minute. Dwayne Duncan nodded a cross on and Snee headed home to make it 1-1. Hanwell went close again through Ibby Sankoh and Duncan, while Decarrey Sheriff forced Beasant into a save at the other end. Dover regained the lead in the 75th minute. Dequane Wilson-Braithwaite lifted a pass forward and Sheriff’s first touch took him around his man before he finished from close range. Hanwell pushed forward during six minutes of stoppage time, but Dover held firm to secure a 2-1 win in front of a record Hanwell attendance of 1,057.

From the Management

“Dorking is always a really difficult game. We’re in a good place and we’ve just got to keep doing what we’re doing. The club’s in a good place, the team’s in a good place, and we’ve just got to keep going.”

Dorking Wanderers

Dorking Wanderers booked their place in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round with a 1-0 win over Chatham Town at Meadowbank. The visitors made a lively start and nearly took an early lead when Jack Lyons struck the post. Dorking responded through Harry Pinchard, whose long-range effort dipped over the bar, before Alfie Rutherford also went close. Chatham continued to threaten and Harry Lodovica found himself one-on-one with Glenn Morris, but Dorking recovered to clear the danger. Despite chances at both ends, the sides went into half-time goalless. The breakthrough arrived in the 54th minute in unusual fashion. After Dorking won a corner, Pinchard took responsibility and his delivery evaded everyone before bouncing directly into the top-left corner. Chatham pushed for an equaliser and Lodovica was denied by an excellent Morris save from close range. The visitors continued to apply pressure late on, with Kola Salami among those threatening inside the area, but Dorking’s defence held firm. Morris produced another important intervention as Chatham searched for a way back into the contest, helping Wanderers preserve their clean sheet and secure a narrow 1-0 victory.

Dorking Wanderers arrive sitting eighth in National League South after ten matches, having collected 16 points from four wins, four draws and two defeats. Marc White’s side have scored 22 league goals so far, underlining their attacking threat, while conceding 16 at the other end. Their recent form has been particularly strong. Dorking have put together an unbeaten run stretching back to the end of August, beginning with a 1–0 victory over Truro City. That was followed by entertaining 3–3 draws against both Billericay Town and Chelmsford City, before another point was earned in a 2–2 draw with Torquay United. The goals have continued to flow in cup competition. Wanderers drew 2–2 with Southall in the FA Cup before winning a dramatic replay 5–4 after extra time, then returned to league action with a 4–3 victory over Braintree Town. Most recently, Dorking booked their place in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round with a 1–0 win over Chatham Town. The current run reflects a side carrying plenty of attacking confidence, with White’s squad continuing to produce goals from several areas. Their position just outside the play-off places also keeps them firmly among a tightly packed group competing towards the top end of the division.

Last Time

The most recent meeting between Dorking Wanderers and Dover Athletic came at Meadowbank on 10 February 2026, when two second-half goals earned the hosts a 2–0 victory. Dover started brightly and created the better of the early chances. George Nikaj fired narrowly wide before later forcing Harrison Foulkes into an excellent reflex save following a dangerous delivery. Ruben Soares-Junior was unable to convert the rebound as the Whites threatened to break the deadlock. Dorking responded with Jordan Norville-Williams shooting narrowly past the top corner, but neither side could find a breakthrough during a competitive first half. Dover again began positively after the interval, with Nikaj delivering for Decarrey Sheriff, but the forward could not direct his effort towards goal. The hosts opened the scoring in the 51st minute. Frank Vincent delivered a free-kick from the right which was flicked on inside the penalty area, allowing Brennan Camp to arrive and drive a powerful finish into the far corner. Dover attempted to respond, with Sheriff and Nikaj both testing Foulkes, while Harry Beadle’s long throws also caused problems after his introduction. Mitch Walker then produced an excellent save to deny Dennon Lewis before reacting quickly to smother the rebound from Jimmy Muitt. Dorking eventually made the points safe eight minutes from time when a ball flashed across the six-yard box and Knight reacted quickest to finish from close range. Dover almost reduced the deficit late on when Luke Baptiste curled an effort against the post, but Dorking held firm to complete a 2–0 victory in front of 906 spectators.
