PAVEY JOINS ATHLETIC

Dover Athletic are delighted to confirm the signing of striker Alfie Pavey.

The 23-year-old England C international, who will wear the number 14 shirt, arrives at Crabble from fellow National League side Havant & Waterlooville for an undisclosed fee.

After spending his youth career with Maidstone, Pavey joined Championship side Millwall.

In his three years with the Lions, Pavey, who met his new team-mates ahead of Saturday’s clash with Hartlepool, spent time on loan with Barnet, Bromley, Aldershot, Hampton and Richmond and Dartford.

Following a brief spell with Welling United at the start of last season, Pavey returned to Dartford, scoring 28 goals in 38 matches and winning the National League South Player of the Season.

He joined promoted Havant & Waterlooville last June and scored four times in 19 appearances, including the Hawk’s second goal at Crabble in a 4-3 defeat in August.

TAYLOR SIGNS ON

We are delighted to announce the signing of winger Bobby-Joe Taylor until the end of the season following his release from Bromley.

The 23-year-old former Chelsea and Gillingham youngster had been on loan with us from our fellow National League side since October and has played four games in that time.

PREVIEW: WHITES V HARTLEPOOL

Following two matches on the road, Whites are back at Crabble tomorrow and the recent league results of Saturday’s opposition will give Athletic fans hope of a second consecutive win at home.

Matthew Bates’ side have lost four straight league matches and were also defeated 4-3 after extra time to League One Gillingham in their First Round Emirates FA Cup replay, despite being two goals ahead at half-time.

And Bates’ will be without midfielder Michael Woods for the trip down south, with the 28-year old rejoining Harrogate Town earlier this week.

For Dover, boss Andy Hessenthaler can call upon Anthony Jeffrey once again following his recent suspension.

The winger has missed the last six matches following his sending off at Harrogate last month.
