CLUB SWOOP FOR NANETTI

CLUB SWOOP FOR NANETTI

*BS*Dover Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of Christian Nanetti from Havant & Waterlooville. The attacking midfielder scored 12 goals in 43 appearances for The Hawks last season.*BF*

The 22-year-old becomes Chris Kinnear’s third signing of the summer, following the earlier captures of defender Tyrone Sterling and striker Stefan Payne.

Italian-born Nanetti was on the books of Queens Park Rangers as a youth player, before moving to Scottish side Raith Rovers in September 2010. Before signing for Havant in March 2012, the midfielder also played for Ashford Town (Middlesex) and Lewes.

Nanetti has previously attracted the attention of League sides Bradford City and Charlton Athletic, but has now signed on at Crabble to bolster Chris Kinnear’s midfield options ahead of the club’s first season back in the Conference Premier in over a decade.

The club are pleased to have sealed the signing of Nanetti and wish him the very best of luck as he begins the next chapter in his footballing career.

A full interview with Christian will be available on www.doverathletic.com later on this week.

TRIO SIGN NEW DEALS

TRIO SIGN NEW DEALS

*BS*Dover Athletic are delighted to announce that Barry Cogan, Liam Bellamy and Lee Hook have all signed new contracts with the club.*BF*

The trio have agreed one-year deals to see them through to the end of Whites’ first season back in the Conference Premier.

Midfielder Cogan is one of the club’s longest-serving players, having joined Whites in November 2010.

Last season was widely viewed as his best since his arrival, playing in 44 first-team matches and ending the season with 15 goals.

It was the 29-year-old’s late penalty in the final regular fixture of the season, against Hayes & Yeading, which sent Whites into the play-off campaign which culminated in promotion to the Conference Premier.

Fellow midfielder Liam Bellamy has also agreed a new deal with the club, confirming a second season at Crabble for the 23-year-old. Bellamy was Chris Kinnear’s fourth signing last summer, and made 39 appearances last season – scoring six goals.

Also signing on for another season is experienced goalkeeper Lee Hook, who has now been at the club for over five years. The 35-year-old made three appearances last season, all in the Kent Senior Cup, but plays a key role as understudy for Mitch Walker.

The club are delighted that Barry, Liam and Lee have committed their efforts next season to the club.
