NEW KIT ANNOUNCED

NEW KIT ANNOUNCED

*BS*Dover Athletic is pleased to announce a new kit partnership for the 2014-2015 season. Whites have signed a one year deal with Italian sportswear manufacturer Macron.*BF*

Following logistical problems over the past few seasons, the club has spent a great deal of time reviewing its options to ensure availability and prompt delivery of a great kit for both the players and the fans.

Macron will be producing two customised kits for Dover, the first in traditional black and white, with gold detail and the second in pink.
The club will continue to make use of Dye sublimation printing technology as this provides excellent quality and product life. The players also prefer the printed fabric, rather than heavy embroidered badges.

The club have ensured that shirt retail prices will not rise, providing extra value to for our supporters.

Chairman, Jim Parmenter said “We are very pleased to be working Macron, they have given us absolute assurances on delivery times for replicas and we are very happy with the quality of the kit. We hope that this is the start of a long and successful relationship”.

As part of the deal, Macron will also be providing a range of Dover Athletic branded sports and leisure wear, which will go on sale at the end of July.

Shirt will be available for order from the clubs new online shop, which will be launching in the next couple of weeks, supporters will also be able to view and order from our re-fitted club shop at the ground, after it re-opens. Watch this space for more details.

STERLING READY FOR ACTION

STERLING READY FOR ACTION

Whites players started pre season training this week with Tyrone Sterling fit and raring to go after returning to Dover. ‘We did the fitness tests today and there it was great to see some of the old faces, I was made to feel really welcome again. It is such a nice environment.’

Centre half Sterling, who can also operate at left back, is looking forward to hooking up with Chris Kinnear again after a difficult relegation battle with Kent rivals Dartford, which was disrupted by injuries. ‘They are a good club, but I wanted to come here to clear my head and this is somewhere I had a good experience before. I injured my ankle last pre season that put me out for 6 weeks and every time I came back, I seemed to injure something else. I still played 38 games, but I am used to playing every game.’ He also added ‘Chris gave me my opportunity to play at a higher level, so he did not have to say anything really to lure me back, he knows I am ambitious and he is a good guy to get on with.’

The forthcoming fixtures will show Dartford as a Skrill Premier club in spite of their final position of 20th in May, as Hereford and Salisbury were shown the door by the powers that be following financial irregularities. But in spite of last season’s hardship, Sterling is confident Whites will have a stronger season than their Kent rivals. ‘We will have to pump our chests out and go for it as there are some very good teams in this league and they will punish you, but I don’t think we have anything to be worried about, we will try and finish as high as we can. We will stay up.

Former Cray man Sterling, will likely battle with Richard Orlu and Sean Raggett, who were both outstanding in the play offs, for a place at centre back. A challenge he is looking forward to. ‘Sean is a good young lad and Richard seems like a nice guy. Whoever plays will prove a good partnership.’

ELDER EXCITED TO EXTEND WHITES STAY

ELDER EXCITED TO EXTEND WHITES STAY

Whites continued their pre season preparations by securing the services of last season’s play off hero Nathan Elder for another season – a move that delighted the giant striker.

‘I’m happy that it is finally done and dusted. The club had a few bits to sort out after winning promotion, but the gaffer left me a message asking me to sign. I am really excited as I enjoy playing clubs like Gateshead, Macclesfield and Bristol Rovers.’

With the bookmakers undoubtably making new arrivals Dover one of the favourites for relegation, Chris Kinnear’s men are facing a different type of challenge after a number of years where promotion has always been widely expected. Nathan is confident he and his team mates can prove any doubters wrong and keep Dover in the Skrill Premier. ‘Our attitude and commitment is first class and the way that we conduct ourselves is first class – Which is half the job done.’

*Q1*Elder and the likes of Barry Cogan and Craig Stone already have experience at that level, which will be invaluable to the non league Premier novices at the club. ‘Between us we have a lot of knowledge and as long as the young lads listen and take on criticism like they did last season then 100% they will be able to make the step up.’

*Lpic1*Fifteen goals last season was a decent return for Elder, but the marksmen feels he was below his best in front of goal and will be demanding a higher standard from himself. ‘I was not at my best and I want to score more. We will be facing fitter, stronger and smarter defenders next season, so I need to be at my fittest. Training three times a week will help that.’
